Was one of only 1,000 persons world-wide invited to attend the first China International Tourism Conference, Beijing, March, 1982.
1978-1979: Founder and owner, Gold Rush Ice Cream Parlor, Arcata, CA. This ice cream parlor, the county's most elegant, realized a 30% increase in sales during its first five months of operation. The business was sold June 4, 1979.
Co-founder/co-owner, Melanie Kareem School of Dance, Eureka, CA. This dance school, the region's best known and largest, taught disco, aerobic, tap, jazz and belly dancing. It showed a 35% return on investment after its first six months. This business was sold in September, 1979.
